Butterflies!

“I know these butterflies won’t settle.

Not tomorrow, not today,

not even when the clouds come kissing the ground one day.

I can’t lock them away in a glass jar, nor can I trick them to fly away in the open sky.

They won’t move an inch, nor skedaddle, not even when the heavens try,

And when we are 200 years or so, having had lived so many lifetime too,

they’ll still find a way to flutter, at the very thought of you.”

My muse !

“Not that I didn’t love

poetry before,

but I always seemed to fall

short of words,

All I knew, was that

the sky was blue,

and the sea reflected it too,

but to think more of them,

seemed a bit absurd.

Then I met You.

the sky was still blue,

but there was something new,

the same world,

but a different view,

And I learned that

words weren’t just scribbled

alphabets on papers

they could be so much more too,

and it was then that I knew,

I’d found my poetry in you.”

Love like ours…

“It was dark, not a star in sight.

Clouds possessed the sky,

like it was trying to prevent the stars from witnessing our love.

The heat that over powered the night, soon turned to fire.

No wonder it made the sky shy away,

for even though it did love the stars,

it had never seen a love, quite like ours.”

How I know it’s love

He’s not your regular guy. His ways are far too twisted and he’s far too tangled in his own head.

But our eyes make conversations, making me fall for the words he never said.

He gets my heart racing and it runs straight to him, taking every piece of me along, and then it beats to the sound of his song.

While he keeps up his poker face, I lay all my cards on the table, each one of them showing hearts.

He smells like love, making me wonder, what had I been breathing in before him?

The complexities that flow through him, makes me want to drown in,

And there’s this strange pleasure seeing the walls of my heart turn paper thin.

I feel like I’m flying even as I drown, thinking of all the endless possibilities of what we could be,

If we could let our hearts be wild and free.

When we kissed the world ceased to exist.

I’d never known the feeling of being complete,

So I lost my heart in a heart beat.

I’m not looking for you anymore.

There was an enormous bright light,

And then everything went comfortably numb,

and the days slowly turned into nights.

But a light would shine far away in a line,

It was then when I saw you for the first time,

and my heart wondered, if you could be mine?

With a snap of a finger,

you disappeared in the thin air,

leaving stardust behind,

Even the dust shined like one of the kind.

I’ve been down on my knees,

heart sinking into an oblivion too,

I’ve searched for you in worlds within worlds,

I’ve searched through and through.

I’ve had raindrops wound me, cause so much pain,

Only to have it rain all over again.

When the ground trembled, I stood tall,

Looked for you in the crispy leaves,

in case the tremors made you fall.

Oh I looked for you,

dawn till dusk, dusk till dawn,

I felt my bones crumble in the palm of your hand,

but when I turned around you were far gone.

I walked in the night,

looked in the places you once hid,

Though it’s day now,

but nothing shines as bright as you once did.

Feet don’t agree with my spirit anymore,

The Heart’s in pieces, soul is torn.

There once resided Galaxies,

now it’s all empty inside,

I’m not looking for you anymore,

so you can come out now,

from wherever you choose to hide.

Stick a pin in it…

Giving up is all kinds of cowardly,

it’s a sign of being weak,

But sometimes

it’s what you have to do

to make yourself strong too.

So stick a pin in it,

it’s time,

it’s been time for sometime now.

~I found my poetry in You~

Not that I didn’t love

and the sea reflected it too,

but to think more of them,

but a different view,

And then I learned that

they were so much more too,

and it was then that I knew,

I’d found my poetry in you.

Take me and fly…

And we walk on the sky, fly under the ground,

Taste the rain, as our fingers feel the clouds,

Our eyes sing, as our heartbeats pick up the rhymes,

The raindrops crawl under our skin,

Melting the walls of our hearts, now they seem so paper thin,

The sun sets in the sky, and the moon comes alive in your arms,

And as the stars surround us from far,

We lock away the world in a glass jar,

Forgetting everything we ever knew,

Now the world consists of no one, but me and you,

We are neck deep in love,

The stars rain tonight from above,

they touch our skin and take us in the sky,

And we free ourselves from this skin and bone, but we never die,

Our souls still holding hands,

We see nobody, but the world now stares as it motionlessly stands.
